Known for his masterful rendering of flesh and metal and meticulously crafted compositions, Max Mitchell paints in pursuit of dynamism. He architects his paintings to be puzzle games of forced perspective, demanding that viewers contend with the noise. American Clutter examines the strata of Mitchell’s work, revealing his fascination with visual theory through chaotic and nostalgic scenes of anonymous Americana.
