Bio:
Belinda Tucker is an artist and medical student at Virginia Tech Carilion here in Roanoke, Virginia. Since graduating from the University of Washington with a degree in neuroscience, she has taught art at various senior centers throughout Virginia and published two of her pieces in Virginia Tech’s medical art journal (ARTiculations). Due to the constraints of dorm rooms and a student lifestyle, she previously worked primarily in digital art, but lately has been exploring acrylic painting. This is her first exhibition!

Statement:
Somewhere between a textbook and an operating table sits my view of the human body. Unnamed organs and glands melding into backgrounds of fat, veins staring at you with dark pupils, pathology splashing in bright colors and feverish skin, Physical Exam hopefully leaves you with a lot of curiosity and little bit of disgust.

The exhibition is on display through August 28, 2026.
